1937 Model D tractors are out into service as logging winches.
1949 John Deere releases the MC Crawler, allowing loggers to pull in steep slopes and soft soil.
1956 John Deere had been an agriculture focused company for more than 110 years, but formed their Industrial Equipment Division, later to become the Construction and Forestry Division, by making a $15 million investment. The investment was made to build factories to seperate the farm and construction divisions.
1957 440 Crawler is released, as well as a change to all yellow industrial equipment.
1958 The John Deere Model 64 became the company's first all-hydraulic bulldozer.
1967 Deere introduced the first articulated-frame motor grader, the JD570.
1977 The 743 Tree Harvester is released. It combined the speed of rubber tires and the reach of a boom, allowing operators to harvest two trees per minute.
1981 John Deere's industrial product line grew to 22 construction machines and 17 forestry machines.
1988 Hydraulic excavators begin to be manufactured in America by Deere-Hitachi Construction Machinery Corporation.
1998 John Deere partnered with Hitachi Corporation Construction Machinery to manufacture excavator-based logging machines.
2005 John Deere manufactures its first articulated dump truck.
2010 John Deere begins shippping the 744K loader, the first piece of construction equipment with more than 75 horsepower to meet new EPA regulations.
