John Deere entered the lawn and garden market in 1963 with the production of the Model 110. Following the success of the 110 model, John Deere released a 112 and 140 model.
In 1975 John Deere made major improvements upon its lawn tractor line, with the release of the 200, 300, and 400 series lawn tractors. In 1984 John Deere released the first lawn tractor with a diesel motor when they released the 430.
During the 1990s John Deere released their LT and LX series mowers, and later the GT and GX series mowers for owners who needed more power.
During the 2000s John Deere released the LA and X series models with new features such as headlights, Edge Cutting systems, and easily attachable baggers. The X series tractors featured hydrostatic transmissions.
